Portland Head Coach Garrett Smith
"I thought it was a great performance. It was very similar to what we did on Thursday night against BYU, but we didn't finish any chances against BYU. Tonight we were finishing like we should have been against BYU. I give a lot of credit to Utah for keeping it tough all first half. It was like a boxing match, and no one could get through. As the game wore on, we got better and better chances. The patience in the final third for us showed, and then the talent came out. It was a world class finish."
Utah Head Coach Rich Manning
"That was a proud team out there performing and playing good soccer. If we have to go out, we like to go out to a good soccer team like that."
"In the first half I was happy that the game was a little bit choppy, because I thought my team would gain confidence as the game wore on. But, that goal [by Sari] obviously opened things up a little bit. We've had trouble all year at the start of the second half. I don't that [goal] was a result of us playing badly. It was just a beautiful set piece. Woznuk just picked out her target and it was a great header from 10 or 12 yards out. Maybe that got us on our heals a little bit or lifted their spirits."
"In general, I thought we just weren't able to hold the ball well enough, so we were giving it away and had to defend. And when you have to defend against Portland you have to defend for a while. I think we got a few people worn out. The second goal I felt was a product of a couple people being tired. Just some late tackles and poor decisions, but a wonderful finish there too."
On saying good-bye to the seniors, his first full recruiting class: "Everything I dreamed of doing and being able to accomplish on the field, they did. I'm so proud of them for that. And I hope that in return they had the college experience on and off the field that they wanted. You can list their accomplishments. But, there's bleachers out there, there's lights out there, there are a lot of people at our games, we're playing in the NCAA Tournament for the fifth straight year, we have a lot of trophies in the trophy case; and they play good soccer. I'll always be thankful and have a soft spot in my heart for them."
