SALT LAKE CITY - Utah sophomore forward Adele Letro has been named to the NSCAA/adidas All-America Second Team. She becomes the first All-American in the 12-year history of the Utah women's soccer program.
Letro was honored as the 2006 MWC Offensive Player of the Year and first team NSCAA All-West Region. The Davis, Calif., native led the Utes with 12 goals, including eight game-winners, and also had three assists. She has scored 19 goals in two seasons at the U.
Letro help lead Utah to a Top 10 national ranking, 16 wins, the second round of the NCAA College Cup playoffs and the Mountain West Conference championship.
The honorees will be invited to the NSCAA All-America Luncheon, which will be held on Saturday, Jan. 13, as part of the 2007 NSCAA Convention.
