Madison, Wis. - Senior Amanda Feigt had a provisional qualifying mark in the women's pentathlon today with a score of 3780. Feigt also helped her 4x400 meter relay team clinch the first place spot with a time of 3:53.62. The 4x400 meter relay team consisted of Feigt, Ashley Patterson, Whitney Wellington, and Chelsea Shapard.
In the 60 meter dash Whitney Wellington places second behind Wisconsin's Timeka Walker with a time of 7.78 sec. and breaks the school record. Not far behind Wellington was Jazmin Dickey who placed sixth with a 7.98 sec. run. And in the 400 meter dash Chelsea Shapard finished second with a time of 56.77.
In the field events Becky Riddle led the pack in the women's weight throw with a distance of 58-03.25 ft which is the fourth all time best distance in Utah history. And Haley McAllister won the women's long jump event on her very last attempt jumping 18-05.25 ft.
"Were going to continue to build on what we did this weekend," says head coach Kyle Kepler. "The whole team gave a great effort and finished with high marks and fast times. The team is coming together in every way and looking toward bigger and better things for this program."
Boise, Id. - The Utes ran competed very well throughout the day at the Boise State Invitational with Susan Atwater tying for second place in the pole vault, jumping a height of 11-11.75 ft. In the long jump Jennifer Neddo placed second with a distance of 16-07 ft, while Kelsi Maires placed sixth (14-06 ft.). Chastity Toilolo was able to place fourth in the weight throw with a distance of 41-03 ft.
