SALT LAKE CITY - The historic 2006 campaign officially came to a close for the University of Utah volleyball team as it wrapped up its 28-4 season at its year-end banquet last week.
To go along with the 28-4 mark, the Utes managed to go unblemished in league play and tallied a 16-0 mark in the Mountain West Conference. For more information on the historic season, please read the the season recap.
In addition to honoring the team and individual accolades the team chalked up during the season, head coach Beth Launiere and her staff handed out the team awards. Airial Salvo won the team MVP honor while Chelsey Sandberg (Most Improved), Emillie Toone (Most Inspirational), Connie Dangerfield (Best Defensive) and Kathryn Lovell (Coaches Award and Academic Award) rounded out the rest of the team award winners.
