Ciao from Sydney Anderson! Today is defined by cars and gyms. Today many of us woke up around 8:30 to eat breakfast; breakfast consists of so many delicious foods such as pancakes, French toast, bacon and sausages. Ha just kiddin'. It really isn't as bad as it seems, there are many types of different cereals to choose from, hard boiled eggs, ham and cheese, and Em's favorite HOT DOGS!
After breakfast we all headed down to the gym, which is about a 5 min. walk from our hotel. You would probably think that it is beautiful, warm weather, but in fact we have had two cold and rainy days, which some of us don't mind at all. As we arrived to the gym we did our normal routine of warming up and finally began our match with the second place team in Slovenia, Maribor called Nova KBM Branik. This was a great learning experience for the team, we lost 3-1 but we all feel like we have taken our game to the next level.
We left the gym and went back to eat some lunch at the hotel. Now lunch has a wider variety than breakfast. You can choose from pasta, rice, chicken, fish, mushrooms, broccoli, and potatoes. Yum! After we have all packed up and showered, we headed down to the vans, where we took a 2 ½ hour drive to Nova Gorica. We spent most of our time sleeping in the vans, but when we were awake we had a lot of good bonding time, non-stop laughing moments, and beautiful views.
When we arrived in Nova Gorcia, we found out that we were playing the top team in Italy, OK Nova Gorcia. Their ages ranged from a young 17 to an older 29. We fought hard and didn't give up. Unfortunately we lost 3-2. We are now on the road once again in the beloved vans that we missed so much and are headed to Ravenna, Italy. I never thought we would be in Croatia, Slovenia, and Italy all within a couple of hours. Goodbye for now. We all miss you at home!
