SALT LAKE CITY - Two University of Utah women's soccer players have earned All-West Region honors from Soccer Buzz online magazine.
Junior forward Adele Letro (Davis, Calif.) was named to the Soccer Buzz All-West Second Team. Letro ranked sixth in the nation in goals per game (0.85) and seventh in points per game (1.95). She led the MWC in both of those categories.
Ute sophomore midfielder Kelly Isleib (Park City, Utah) was named to the Soccer Buzz All-West third team. Isleib finished fourth in the nation and led the Mountain West Conference with 0.93 assists per game.
"I'm very proud of the season both Kelly and Adele had this past year," Utah head coach Rich Manning said. "We always say that team success will help bring individual honors and I think the fact that we had a fairly successful season as a team helped boost their performances.
"Kelly really grew a lot this year," Manning continued. "The way she quarterbacked our team and was able to create goal-scoring opportunities for her teammates was remarkable."
"Adele's finishing was razor sharp for the majority of the season," Manning added. "The way she performed in front of the goal helped our team get a lot of positive results."
