Five Utah Volleyball Players Named To MWC All-Academic Team

SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah placed 48 student-athletes on the Mountain West Conference 2008 All-Academic team for the fall semester, including five volleyball players.
Seniors Lori Baird, Kathryn Haynie, and Emillie Toone were selected with Karolina Bartkowiak, and Abby Simmons also earning MWC All-Academic honors.
Football led the way for Utah with 23 honorees. Women's soccer had 12 athletes selected and cross country saw eight of its team members recognized.
Fall sports include cross country, football, women's soccer and volleyball. To be eligible for selection, student-athletes must have completed at least one academic term at the member institution while maintaining a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or better, and be a starter or significant contributor on their athletic team.
