SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah volleyball capped one of its most successful seasons in school history with a banquet Tuesday night in the South Lounge of the Jon. M. Huntsman Center.
To go along their 26-6 overall mark and NCAA Sweet 16 appearance, the Utes managed to win their final 14 matches in Mountain West Conference competition and tallied a 14-2 mark in league play to take the MWC title. For more information on the historic season, please read the season recap.
In addition to honoring the team's accomplishments, head coach Beth Launiere and her staff handed out individual awards. Lori Baird was named the team's Most Valuable Player, while Keisha Fisher (Best Defensive), Kathryn Haynie (Most Inspirational), Jennifer Lanting (Most Improved) and Chelsey Sandberg (Coaches' Award) rounded out the rest of the team award winners.
