TEMPE, ARIZ. - Brianna LeRoy competed in the outdoor heptathlon on Wednesday and Thursday at Arizona Community College where she placed fifth out of eleven athletes and qualified for the U.S.A. Junior National Championships.
"We are very pleased with her performance in her first outdoor heptathlon," said associate head coach Burke Bockman. "Our goal was for her to get 4,200 points and she got 4,275 and qualified for the U.S.A. Junior National Championships. This was a good opener for her and the track team as a whole.
The 2009 U.S.A. Junior National Championships will be hosted by the University of Oregon on June 25-28. The event will showcase top athletes from across the country ages 19 and younger.
