SALT LAKE CITY - University of Utah track and field and cross country student-athlete Lauren Endersen has been named to the ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic Academic All-American First Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), the organization announced Friday. Endersen was a third-team Academic All-American last year.
The West Jordan, Utah native is a Presidential Scholar who will enroll in the Ohio State University Medical School next fall. She scored in the 99.4 percentile on MCAT with a 39 on her first attempt. Endersen finished as the runner-up in the 5,000-meter run (18:28.04) and took eighth place overall in the 3,000-meter run at the Mountain West Conference Indoor Championships with a life-time best of 10:01.57 and scored a team point for Utah. At this season's conference outdoor championships, Endersen took fifth in the 10,000-meter run and earned four points for Utah with a time of 39:02.17 and ran the 5,000-meter event with a time of 18:26.38 to earn seventh place overall.
