SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah volleyball capped its 2009 season with a banquet Monday night in the South Lounge of the Jon. M. Huntsman Center.
The Utes finished 17-12 season and were 10-6 in the Mountain West Conference, which was good for a third-place tie. For a detailed look at the 2009 season, please read the final release.
In addition to honoring the team's accomplishments, head coach Beth Launiere and her staff handed out individual awards. Junior Karolina Bartkowiak was named the team's Most Valuable Player and earned the Coaches Award.
Senior Chelsey Sandberg received the Most Inspirational Player award. Fellow senior Cinthia Silva was recognized for her contributions to the program as well.
Sophomore Danielle Killpack earned the Most Improved Player award, while junior libero Keisha Fisher was recognized as the Best Defensive Player. Redshirt freshman Miranda Bradshaw was honored with the team's Highest GPA award after posting a 3.9 mark.
