SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah women's track and field team will be back in action on Friday with the one-day BYU Cougar Invitational in Provo, Utah. The meet will kick off with the hammer throw at 10:00 a.m. MST and the last event will be the 4x400m relay at 4:50 p.m.
The Utes have competed in two meets thus far in the season (Willie Williams Invite and the Stanford Invitational), but for many of Utah's track and field athletes, this will be their first meet of the outdoor season.

"For many of our athletes this will be the first meet of the outdoor season, so we just want to go out and have good efforts and fight for every position we can," said head coach Kyle Kepler. "We aren't looking for specific marks or times necessarily; mostly we just want to get back into the mind frame of competing.
"The weather will be questionable, so we will be concentrating on maintaining our health through this weekend. We want to stay loose and focused when we return for our home meet next weekend."
