California-Stanford Match Notes
The University of Utah volleyball team entertains No. 7 California in Pac-12 Conference action tonight at Crimson Court.
Utah is 9-15 overall and owns a 4-11 record in Pac-12 play this season after splitting a pair of road matches last weekend, defeating No. 16 Oregon in Eugene before falling to Oregon State on Saturday.

Upset-Minded Utes: The Utes picked up an upset victory in five sets at No. 16 Oregon Friday in Eugene. Utah took down the Ducks 13-25, 25-22, 28-26, 17-25, 15-8 at Matthew Knight Arena for its first win over a ranked opponent since Nov. 24, 2010 at Colorado State, 3-1.
Road Blocks: Utah is eighth in the NCAA and in third place in the league's overall blocking statistics, with 2.96 blocks per set this season. The Utes rank fourth in the statistics for league-only matches with 2.77 blocks per set in conference action.
The Utes outblocked the Ducks, 18.0 to 6.0, which was a season-high for blocks in conference matches this season. Utah held a 3.00 to 1.62 block-per-set advantage in matches at Oregon and Oregon State last weekend.
Redd Roof: Sophomore middle blocker Erin Redd (Spanish Fork, Utah) had a career high 12 blocks to lead Utah against Oregon Friday in Eugene. Redd's performance against the Ducks tied two other individuals for the highest single-match total for blocks in the Pac-12 this season. Redd is 15th in the country and fourth in the Pac-12's overall statistics this season with 1.44 blocks per set. She ranks fifth in league play with 1.35 blocks per set against league foes.
A Glance at No. 7 California: No. 7 California is currently tied for third in the Pac-12 standings and on a two-match slide after losing to UCLA and USC last weekend. Cal is second in the Pac-12 with a 2.68 hitting percentage as a team. The Golden Bears also rank second in the league in opponent hitting percentage, holding their opponents to a .136 efficiency on the attack.
