SALT LAKE CITY - On a recent trip to Primary Children's Hospital on campus, several members of the University of Utah women's soccer team spent the day volunteering and interacting with patients. Check out the photo gallery from the visit or read what the players had to say, below.
Junior defender Lauren Dudley:
"My teammates and I had an amazing time volunteering at the Children's Hospital. It was quite humbling to see how [the children] could still find joy in simple things like playing with playdough, coloring pictures and visors, when they were suffering from some sort of ailment at that point in their lives. It really inspired me to make the best of every situation I'm in. It was a great experience and I hope to be able to return soon. If we can help even one of those kids find a little more joy through the hard times they may be facing, it's incredibly rewarding."
Sophomore midfielder Allie Wisner:
"We are so lucky to be able to do things like this. We take so many things for granted sometimes and this was a great chance for us to further appreciate what we are able to do every day. Just as much as I think we make the kids' days by being there, they really do the same for us. I know the whole team had so much fun and really enjoyed the experience."
Junior defender Lauren Porter:
"It was a great experience. Most of the team went and everyone said how exciting and rewarding it was to give a little bit back to these kids. It was a lot of fun and the kids seemed to love it, and several of us were inspired to continue going back to the hospital on a more regular basis."
