The University of Utah volleyball team will hosts its first-ever Pac-12 Conference matches this weekend at Crimson Court. The Utes entertain Oregon State Friday, then face No. 15 Oregon on Saturday. First serve for both matches is set for 7 p.m. MT. The Utes are 6-6 overall and 1-2 in Pac-12 play this season after sweeping Colorado in Boulder on Tuesday, then suffering a pair of losses at No. 2 Stanford and No. 1 California during the first weekend of Pac-12 play.

Cozy Crimson Confines: Utah is 34-11 (.756) within the friendly confines of Crimson Court since 2008. The Utes' all-time home record is 278-166 (.626) since the program's inception in 1975.
Colorado Review: The Utes held a .275 to .161 advantage in team hitting as well as a 9-4 edge in team blocks as they swept Colorado (25-22, 25-21, 25-21) in their first-ever Pac-12 Conference match Sept. 13 at the Coors Events Center.
Building Blocks: Utah is tied for the Pac-12 lead with an average of 3.02 blocks per set. The Utes have outblocked their opponents in 10 of their first 12 outings this season. The Utes have limited their opponents to a 1.50 average in team blocks. Utah also maintains a .225 to .172 edge in hitting percentage through 12 matches in 2011.
Revved Up Redd: Sophomore middle blocker Erin Redd (Spanish Fork, Utah) led the Utes during the opening week of Pac-12 Conference play with a .291 hitting efficiency with 2.67 kills per set. Redd had 24 kills in nine sets and committed only eight errors on 55 swings against the Buffaloes, Cardinal and Golden Bears. She has led or tied for the team lead in kills three times this season. Redd had six kills in Tuesday's inaugural Pac-12 match, a 3-0 Utah win over Colorado. She had eight kills on 16 attempts with only two errors for a team-high .375 hitting percentage Friday at No. 2 Stanford then posted a team-high 10 kills on 24 attempts with only four errors Saturday at No. 1 California.
`Sim'-plify: Sophomore libero Nikki Sim (Salt Lake City, Utah) led the back row of the Utah defense with 4.00 digs per set last week. Sim has reached double-digits in digs in each of the last nine matches and in 11 of Utah's 12 matches this season. She has earned team-high honors in digs nine times this year. Sim ranks fifth in the Pac-12 with a team-high average of 4.34 digs per set. Sim had had 11 digs Tuesday at Colorado then had a match-high 15 digs Friday at No. 2 Stanford before finishing the week with 10 digs Saturday against No. 1 California.
