Out of the Gate: Despite dropping two of three matches last weekend at the UC Davis Aggie Invitational, Utah's 6-2 start is its best since 2009. The current Utes have tied for the fourth-best season-opening stretch in program history. The Utes have been 6-2 or better after eight matches in a season 12 times in school history. Seven of those squads, including seven of the previous eight before 2012, have qualified for the NCAA Tournament. Eleven of the 12 teams appearing on the list were led by head coach Beth Launiere.
Rivalry Rundown: Utah has won 20 of the last 24 meetings with BYU since Oct. 19, 2001. During that stretch, the Utes have gone 8-2 at Smith Fieldhouse. Utah has not lost in Provo, Utah since Nov. 9, 2007.
Utah owns a 3-0 edge in the Deseret First Duel Rivalry series after the Ute women's soccer team picked up a 1-0 win on Aug. 25 in Salt Lake City.
