SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah volleyball team celebrated its 2012 season with a banquet in the South Lounge of the Jon. M. Huntsman Center.
The Utes finished the 2012 season 14-19 overall with a 5-15 mark during its second Pac-12 Conference season. For a detailed look at the 2012 season, please read the final release.
In addition to honoring the team's accomplishments, head coach Beth Launiere and her staff handed out individual awards. Junior outside hitter Morgan Odale was named the team's Most Valuable Player and junior middle blocker Erin Redd earned the Coaches Award, while sophomore middle blocker Bailey Bateman was recognized as the Best Defensive Player.
Senior setter McKenzie Odale received the Most Inspirational Player award and sophomore middle blocker Alli Spurrier earned the Most Improved Player award.
Sophomore libero Lea Adolph was honored with the team's Academic award after posting a 3.94 cumulative GPA during the 2012 calendar year.
The Utes have already begun preparing for their 2013 campaign and their spring exhibition schedule starts on Mar. 20 at Utah Valley at 4 p.m. MT. The Utah Spring Tournament will be held Mar. 30 in Crimson Court. Go to utahutes.com for all of the details.
