SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - - Utah soccer head coach Rich Manning has named Scott Halasz as an assistant coach. Halasz joins the Utes after serving in the same capacity at Pacific Lutheran University.
"I want to welcome Scott to Utah and our soccer family," Manning said. "He has been an excellent coach with success at both Washington Premier and at Pacific Lutheran. He is focused on becoming a great college coach and this drive will bring a lot of energy to our program."
Halasz, who has almost 15 years of coaching experience also served as a coach with the Washington Premier soccer club and was the Washington Premier ECNL Director. Since 2005, Halasz coached numerous Washington state ODP and EDP teams, including most recently as Region IV ODP Girls 96s assistant coach.
"Scott stresses good communication, teamwork, player development and coaching the whole person - things we value greatly here," Manning added. "He has strong relationships throughout the soccer world that will help us in recruiting. We look forward to his contributions."
A men's soccer assistant coach at Tacoma Community College from 2005-07, Halasz graduated from Seattle University in 2003.
