The University of Utah volleyball team opens its 38th season on Friday and Saturday by hosting the Utah Classic in the Jon M. Huntsman Center.
The Utes take on Utah State on Friday at 7 p.m. MT, before a doubleheader on Saturday against Fairfield (12 p.m. MT) and Northern Iowa (7 p.m. MT).
Keep Up With Utah Volleyball: Tune into a live video stream of all three of Utah's matches this weekend at pac-12.com. Dan Clayton, will have the play-by-play call of Friday's Utah State match, while Gavin McCallister will call Saturday's action against Fairfield and Northern Iowa.

Classic Wins: The Utes captured the 2012 Utah Classic title with three, 3-0 victories over Utah Valley, Cal Poly and Nevada. Senior outside hitter Morgan Odale (Star, Idaho) was named the Most Valuable Player at the 2012 Utah Classic after posting a team-high 3.44 kills per set on a .333 hitting percentage. Juniors Bailey Bateman (Hooper, Utah) and Shelby Dalton (Moab, Utah) joined Odale on the all-tournament team.
Block Party VIP: Senior middle blocker Erin Redd-Brandon (Spanish Fork, Utah) is nine blocks shy of becoming the 10th member of Utah's 400-block club. She has 391 career blocks (368 blocks assists and 23 block solos) heading into the 2013 campaign.
She is five total blocks away from tying Karolina Bartkowiak's (396 from 2007-10) entering Utah's top-10 list in all-time career total blocks.
Redd-Brandon is seventh in Utah history with 368 block assists and currently stands 12 shy of tying Danielle Killpack (380 from 2008-11) for sixth place in school history.
