On the Block: In the latest statistical rankings released by the Pac-12, Utah was second in the conference with 2.90 blocks per set. The Utes were ranked seventh in the latest NCAA statistics.
Mak Attack: Junior outside hitter Makenzie Moea'i registered her second-straight double-figure-kill match with 11 kills on 25 swings Tuesday against Colorado with just four errors for a .280 efficiency to go with three blocks. She is turning in 2.23 kills, 0.58 digs, 0.55 blocks and 0.08 aces per set and is hitting .278 through 13 matches this season. The American Fork, Utah native has five double-figure kill outings this season and one double-double and one double-digit-dig effort in 2013.
Redd-Brandon Climbs Utah's Career Blocks List: Senior middle blocker Erin Redd-Brandon (Spanish Fork, Utah) throughout the Utah record book. She is already seventh in school history with 469 career total blocks (445 block assists and 24 block solos) and is four away from tying Mikki Kane-Barton (473 from 1992-93) for sixth place in school history. Redd-Brandon is fifth on Utah's all-time career list with 445 block assists, four away from catching McKelle Stilson (449 from 1998-2001) for fourth place in school history. She also has 937 career kills on the attack and is 63 away from becoming the 15th member of Utah's 1,000-kill club.
Exclusive Company: Already a member of the Utah 1,000-kill and 100-ace club, senior outside hitter Morgan Odale (Star, Idaho) has pushed her career dig total to 956 and is now 44 shy of becoming the eighth member of Utah's 1,000-dig club. If she reaches that milestone, Odale will also join exclusive company as only two other players in school history have joined three of Utah's milestone clubs (Jenni Eyre (1984-87) and Lori Baird (2005-08)). Odale is already tied with Graciela Torres-Lopez (111 from 1996-99) for sixth in school history with 111 career aces. She is in sole possession of ninth place on the all-time kills list with 1,139 over her career and is 35 away from passing Kathryn Hayne (1,173 from 2005-08). Her 969 career digs has her 10th in Utah history and is six away from Alisa Geddes (974 from 1999-2001) for ninth place on the list.
