UW opened the third set with the first two points and would later lead 13-6 after a 4-0 run, but Dalton helped start a 4-0 run for Utah with back-to-back kills and a block assist later pulled the Utes within three, down 13-10. The Huskies countered, winning five on the next six points to get back up by seven, but Utah came right back with four straight points that included back-to-back aces from junior
Kendall Cygan and UW was forced to call a timeout.
Utah countered UW's 3-0 run out of the timeout with an 8-2 run and tied the set at 23-23, but the run came to an end on a service error and the Utes were forced to call a timeout, down match point, 24-23. Schofield-Olsen collected her ninth kill of the set to tie things back up at 24-24 and the Huskies were then called for a lift, but the officials would eventually call a replay.
Senior
Kalee Kirby still managed to get the point back for the Utes with a second-hit kill, but UW recorded three straight kills to take the set, 27-25, and the match 3-0.
The Utes were swept for the first time since Arizona took straight sets from Utah back on Oct. 3 and for just the third time all season, while the Huskies managed to win in straight sets for the 13th time on the year.
Playing two of the nation's top-three ranked teams over its last two matches, Utah has dropped just one set by more than five points when the Huskies won tonight's second set by 12 points.
