UP NEXT Following a seven-match road swing, the Utah Utes (10-3, 0-2 Pac-12) return home to Crimson Court this weekend to face No. 14-ranked Arizona (13-1, 2-0 Pac-12) and No. 17-ranked Arizona State (11-3, 1-1 Pac-12). The Utes will take on the Wildcats this Friday, Oct. 3 at 8 p.m. before closing out the weekend against the Sun Devils on Sunday, Oct. 5, with a first serve set for noon.

Utah Notes The Utes are coming off a pair of road losses to Colorado and Oregon State. Utah took both teams to five sets, but the Buffs and Beavers came away with victories in the final set.
Utah spotted both CU and OSU 2-0 leads before coming all the way back to tie the match at 2-2, respectively. The Utah squad would give everything it could in both fifth-set encounters, but came up just three points short to the Buffs, while the Beavers managed to edge out the Utes, 15-13.
The Utes have dropped three straight matches after opening the season with a school record 10-straight wins. It marks the first time the Utes have dropped three straight since falling in five consecutive matches from Nov. 1 to Nov. 14 last season.
Utah heads into this weekend's set of matches hitting .246 as a team, with 13.57 kills/set, 12.46 assists/set, 13.59 digs/set and 2.59 blocks/set. Chelsey Schofield-Olsen leads the team with 161 total kills, 3.50 kills/set and 110 total digs. Bailey Bateman has a team-high 54 total blocks and currently ranks 46th in the nation (fifth in Pac-12) with 1.26 blocks/set.
Arizona Notes The Wildcats have won seven straight dating back to Sept. 13 and the squad is coming off a pair of wins to open Pac-12 play, with victories over then No. 19-ranked Arizona State and No. 20-ranked UCLA. Arizona and ASU went five sets before the Wildcats prevailed. Meanwhile, the Wildcats managed to sweep the Bruins in straights in Los Angeles. Arizona has just played three official road contests this season and are 2-1 overall in those matches. The Wildcats are currently 1-0 on the road in conference matches.
The Wildcats come into Friday's match ranked sixth in the nation and second in the Pac-12 with 14.59 kills/set, while ranking 49th overall and first in the league with 16.04 digs/set. Madi Kingdon leads her team and ranks first in both the nation and the Pac-12 with 14.33 attacks/set. She ranks third in the nation and second in the conference with 5.48 kills/set, as well.
Arizona STATE Notes The Sun Devils are coming off a 1-1 weekend with a four-set win over then No. 9-ranked USC following a five-set loss to Arizona. ASU is 4-1 overall in road matches this season, with a 1-1 record in Pac-12 play.
ASU's Bianca Arellano leads her team in assists and currently ranks 71st overall and first in the Pac-12 with 554 total assists on the year. She is averaging 10.65 assists/set. Macey Gardner ranks 41st in the nation and sixth in the league with 4.02 kills/set. She has a team-high 209 total kills on the year.
Anae Dazzles in Pac-12 Openers Freshman outside hitter Adora Anae set new career highs in both kills (14) and hitting percentage (.393) in her first-ever Pac-12 match against Colorado this past Thursday. The Laie, Hawaii, native followed with 11 kills at Oregon State and finished the weekend with 25 kills for a total of 2.5 kills per set, while hitting a team-high .340. Anae tallied nine total blocks for the Utes on the weekend as well.
Bailey on the Block Senior middle blocker Bailey Bateman notched 17 total blocks on the weekend, which included her recording a new career-high with 10 total blocks against Oregon State.
Doubling Up Utah had three players record double-doubles in Saturday's loss to Oregon State. Senior outside hitter Chelsey Schofield-Olsen collected a season-high 21 kills and 10 digs to record her third double-double of the season, while both setters, Kalee Kirby and Kendall Cygan, notched double-doubles as well. Kirby, a senior, recorded 34 assists and 19 digs, while Cygan, a junior, notched 22 assists and 11 digs in the match.
Dalton Goes Double-digits Senior outside/right side hitter Shelby Dalton tallied a season-high 16 kills at Oregon State on Saturday, coming within three kills shy of tying her previous career-high of 19 kills. Dalton recorded a season-high .371 hitting percentage in the contest as well, with just three attack errors in 35 attempts.
Blocking Utes Utah currently ranks sixth in the league with 2.59 blocks/set and has out-blocked the opposition in 11 of its 13 matches so far this season. The squad managed to set new season-highs with 13.5 total team blocks in both matches last week.
On the season, Utah is out-blocking the opposition 119.0 to 72.0 overall. The Utes have 18 solo blocks and 202 block assists on the season, with just 16 blocking errors.
Playing in Crimson Court The Utes will play its final two matches of the season inside Crimson Court this weekend before moving back to the Huntsman Center for the final eight home contests.
Utah is currently 4-0 inside Crimson Court this season and has a combined record of 193-65 (.748) inside the facility under head coach Beth Launiere. The Utes are 17-17 inside Crimson Court and has seven wins over conference foes since joining the Pac-12.
SERIES HISTORY Arizona leads the all-time series 22-5 and has a current one-match winning streak over the Utes. The two teams split the season series last year with both home teams collecting a victory each. Utah is just 3-9 overall when facing the Wildcats at home. Utah's last win over Arizona inside Crimson Court came back on Nov. 30, 2002 (3-1).
ASU leads the series 10-9, but Utah has won four consecutive matches against the Sun Devils, dating back to Oct. 14, 2012. The Utes have won seven of the last eight matches between the two teams and is 4-0 at home in those contests. The Sun Devils have won just three out of eight matches played in Salt Lake City; with its last win coming back on Oct. 20, 1984.
UTAH IN PAC-12 PLAY In its fourth season within the Pac-12, Utah has a combined conference record of 20-44. The Utes had its best season in Pac-12 play last year, after going 9-11 in conference matches and finishing in a tie for seventh place.
Utah is 8-25 in Pac-12 matches on the road and 12-19 in matches played at home.
The Utes are 1-5 when facing Arizona in Pac-12 play and 5-1 against Arizona State.
UTAH AMONG PAC-12 LEADERS The Utes rank second in the league, giving up just a .147 hitting percentage to opposing teams. Oregon currently leads the Pac-12 that category, allowing just .141 attack percentage to opponents.
Bailey Bateman heads into the week ranked fourth in the league with a .391 attacking percentage and she also ranks ninth with 1.12 blocks per set. Chelsey Schofield-Olsen ranks fourth in Pac-12 with 3.42 kills per set and she currently ranks 10th with 3.81 points per set as well.
SCHOFIELD-OLSEN Continues to climb school record lists Senior outside hitter Chelsey Schofield-Olsen moved into the school's all-time career kills top-10 list a few weeks back and now needs just two more kills to surpass Kathryn Haynie (2005-08) for ninth-place on the list. Schofield-Olsen heads into this weekend's set of matches with 1,172 career kills. The Provo native moved into seventh-place all-time with 1,084 career digs and needs just 20 more digs to overtake Jennie Eyre (1,103, 1984-87) for sixth-place all-time.
SCHOFIELD-OLSEN FOR THE RECORD, AGAIN Senior outside hitter Chelsey Schofield-Olsen became just the fourth player in program history to join the 1,000 kills/1,000 digs club. The four-year senior recorded her 1,000th dig midway through Utah's match with New Mexico State back on Aug. 30 and became just the eighth player in school history to become a member of the 1,000 dig club as well.
BATEMAN MOVES UP IN ALL-TIME BLOCK ASSISTS LIST Senior middle blocker Bailey Bateman moved into the school's top-10 list in career block assists earlier this season and now ranks sixth all-time with 388 block assists. The Hooper native is currently 11th all-time with 406 total blocks, needing just three blocks this weekend to surpass Danielle Killpack (2007-10) who finished her career with 408 total blocks.
Dalton closing in on top-10 list Senior outside hitter Shelby Dalton is just one block assist away from taking over 10th-place on the school's all-time block assists career leaders list. The fourth-year player has tallied 352 block assists, which currently ranks tied for 11th overall with Mikki Kane-Barton (1992-93). BATEMAN EARNS PAC-12 HONOR Senior Bailey Bateman earned Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week honors the week of Sept. 15. Bateman notched 15 total blocks and was named to the all-tournament team at the Lipscomb Invitational the week prior to her earning the conference accolade, becoming just the fourth player in school history to the Pac-12 weekly honor.
UTES MAKING QUICK WORK OF OPPONENTS Utah has won in straight sets in eight of its 13 matches this season, which included a run of sweeping six straight opponents as well. The Utes have dropped just nine sets all season and has gone to five sets with just three opponents.

WHERE THEY PLAY The Utes will split matches this season between Crimson Court and the Huntsman Center. Utah will host six total matches inside Crimson Court, with the remainder of the home schedule to be played inside JHC. Home matches played after Oct. 5 will be held inside the newly renovated Huntsman Center.
2014 SCHEDULE NOTES Utah will face 10 teams that qualified for the NCAA Tournament last season, which includes non-conference matches against New Mexico State and BYU. The Utes will play in front of 14 home crowds this season and will participate in a pair of tournaments - the Utah Classic (Aug. 29-30) and the Lipscomb Invitational (Sept. 12-13).
UTES PICKED 10TH IN PAC-12 PRESEASON POLL Despite finishing in a tie for seventh place and returning six seniors, Pac-12 coaches voted Utah to finish 10th overall in the conference this season. Stanford and USC both received five first place votes in the preseason poll, but it was the Cardinal narrowly edging out the Trojans in total points, 114-113. Washington (two first place votes) was picked to finish third, Arizona State was tabbed fourth, while both California and Oregon tied in points to round out the top-five teams.
UTES ON THE PAC-12 NETWORKS Utah's Pac-12 TV schedule includes home games against Arizona (Oct. 3), Arizona State (Oct. 5), California (Oct. 17), Stanford (Oct. 19), USC (Nov. 7), UCLA (Nov. 9), Washington State (Nov. 13) and Colorado (Nov. 28). The Utes will play on the Pac-12 Networks when the team travels to Colorado (Sept. 25), Oregon State (Sept. 27), USC (Oct. 11), Washington (Oct. 24), Washington State (Oct. 26), Stanford (Nov. 21) and California (Nov. 23). UP NEXT Utah returns to playing on the road next week, traveling to Los Angeles to face UCLA (Oct. 10) and USC (Oct. 11).
