SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - The Utah track team had 11 athletes named to the 2015 Pac-12 All-Academic teams, led by first-team selection Nikki Rietz.
Rietz has a 3.92 grade point average and is majoring in exercise and sport science. She also earned first-team Pac-12 All-Academic honors in cross country this fall. Named to the second team was Rebekah Winterton, who has a 3.79 grade point average and is working towards an MBA in accounting, and Destanae Howerton-Davis, who has a 3.64 grade point average in exercise and sport science.
Earning honorable mention honors was Allison Aafedt, Makenzie Clark, Grace Englund, Aoife Hickey, Ilse Kaaja, Lauren Mills, Jessica Sams and Christine Van Brocklin.
To be eligible for selection to the all-academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade point average and be either a starter or significant contributor.
The Utah track team had a 3.455 combined grade point average during the 2015 spring semester. The Utes had 14 athletes make the Dean's List: Aafedt, Andrea Chavez, Kayla Goodwin, Kailey Hansen, Howerton-Davis, Susannah Hurst, Courtney Jost, Kendahl Melvin, Reitz, Sams, Van Brocklin, Sadie Wassum, Rhianna Williams and Winterton. An additional 15 athletes were named to the Athletics Academic Honor Roll: Alissa Atisme, Clark, Ali Eisenbeiss, Sarah Feeny, Megan Glasmann, Dakota Grossman, Raynee Helm, Madison Lanford, Hannah McInturff, Lauren Mills, Kassie Nagel, Michelle Norman, Giselle Slotboom, Dana Snell, Mesa Weidle.
