The Utah Runnin' Utes (1-0, 0-0) begin a two-game home stand this week with a contest against Concordia (1-1, 0-0) this Tuesday, Nov. 15. Tip-off between the Utes and Cavaliers is set for 6:02 p.m. inside the Huntsman Center.

Utah opened the 2016-17 campaign with an 81-37 win over Northwest Nazarene this past Saturday. The Utes limited NNU to under 12 percent shooting, while outscoring the Crusaders 45-17 in the second half.

Kyle Kuzma paced Utah's offense with 23 points on 9-of-14 shooting and a 4-of-6 effort from the charity stripe. Junior

KUZMA ON THE BOARDS
Junior
Kyle Kuzma pulled down a career-high 19 rebounds in Saturday's win over Northwest Nazarene, becoming the first Utah player to record at least 19 boards in a game since Andrew Bogut's 20-rebound effort against New Mexico back on Jan. 22, 2005.

Kuzma surpassed his previous career-high of 12 boards, which he totaled in two games last season. The last time he notched 12 rebounds came at Stanford back on Jan. 1, 2016.

HOT START FOR RAWSON
Junior
Tyler Rawson made his Utah debut on Saturday, pouring in 13 points on 4-of-5 shooting. He was 1-of-2 from beyond the three-point line and a perfect 4-of-4 from the charity stripe. Rawson added five rebounds and led the team with two blocked shots.

JOHNSON MAKES RUNNIN' UTE DEBUT
Freshman
Jayce Johnson played in his first career game for the Utes on Saturday, after sitting out the spring semester as a redshirt in 2015-16. Johnson was second on the team with 14 points and came up two rebounds shy from posting a double-double.

Johnson was 1-of-3 from the field, but shot 60 percent from the free throw line, making six of his 10 attempts. He led the team with four offensive boards on the night and posted one blocked shot.

CLAMPING DOWN ON DEFENSE
Utah limited NNU to under 17 percent shooting on the night, which included giving up just four field goals and a 11.8 percent effort from the Crusaders in the second half. Utah allowed just 17 points to NNU in the second half.

Utah limited the Crusaders to just 37 points in the game, tying the third-fewest points given up to an opponent since 1980. It is the lowest amount of points given up since yielding just 36 points to Air Force back on Jan. 14, 2009.

ABOUT CONCORDIA
The Cavaliers are 1-1 on the young season, but coming off an 85-72 neutral site loss to CSU-San Bernardino this past Saturday. Concordia opened the 2016-17 season with an 80-73 road win over CSU-Monterey Bay.

Latrel Wilson leads Concordia with 17.5 points and a 6-of-12 (.500) effort from beyond the three-point line. Christopher Edward leads the team with 7.0 boards per game, while Taylor Harris follows with a 6.5 rebounds per game effort.

The Cavaliers have averaged 76.0 points per game over the first two contests of the season. They are shooting .467 as a team, while giving up .470 from the field to opposing squads.

SERIES HISTORY
Tuesday's contest will mark the first-ever meeting between these two programs. Utah, however, will be playing its 43nd contest against a NCAA Division II program, bringing in an overall record of 39-3 into the contest.
