SALT LAKE CITY - University of Utah head volleyball coach Beth Launiere has announced dates for the upcoming 2016 summer camps that she and her staff will host.
The Utah Volleyball program will host eight different camps, which include Ute Day Camp (June 6-8), Ute Day Adventure (June 13-16), All Skills Camp (July 5-7 and July 12-14), Position Camp (July 8 and July 15), High Octane Camp (July 19) and Team Prep Camp (July 20-21).
Ute Day Camp is for younger athletes who are just learning to play and don't have much experience. The emphasis is learning the fundamental skills and having fun, while Ute Day Adventure is will incorporate the same camp skills in the morning session and then taking in adventure stops around campus during the afternoon session.
All Skills Camp offers to cover volleyball skills in depth. Players are trained individually in all skills and in game-like situations. This is a great camp for all athletes looking to improve before the start of Junior High or High School season. We can also cater to a team that would like to come together and we will place your entire team with a coach so you can train together prior to your season or our Team Prep Tournament. There is an option to stay over in the University Residence Halls and eat all meals in the on-campus dining facility ($450.00).
Position Camp will train players in their specific position. Players will learn more about their position and incorporate high-level concepts into their game. Positions trained will be Setter, Middle Blocker, Outside Hitter, and Libero. Housing is available for and additional $60 (please contact Beau Lawler with questions at blawler@huntsman.utah.edu).
High Octane Camp is tailored to the high-level varsity player looking for an extra tune-up prior to returning to school. Players will experience 'A Day in the Life' of the college volleyball athlete. Emphasis will be on individual position development and culminate with live scrimmages in the final session. Limited availability based on positions and numbers.
Team Prep Camp is made for teams that want to prepare for their high school seasons. Teams are guaranteed eight matches. Utah camp coaches are available to work with your teams on an individual basis. High school coach or chaperone is required for each team. T-shirt, championship trophy and education sessions are included. There will be a discount for each additional team and housing is available for $155 per person. please contact Beau Lawler with questions at blawler@huntsman.utah.edu).
A minimum of eight athletes per team is required. Max of 10 athletes and one coach ($60 for each additional player or coach). First team tuition is $750, while second and additional team tuition is $675.
