EUGENE, Ore. - Utah Soccer slumped to a 3-0 defeat at Oregon this evening in rainy and slick conditions.
Nicole Seaman scored her first two goals of the season to bookend the Duck output and Miranda Schulz added a goal and assist for the home team.
Oregon got on the board five minutes before the halftime break when Schulz crossed the ball into the box and Seaman's header bounced off the slippery turf and into the net for a 1-0 lead.
Paola van der Veen had Utah's two best chances of the half as she had an attempt blocked in the 17th minute and then had another saved in the 42nd.
In the second half, Taylor Kuroda forced a save from
July Mathias right from the kickoff. A minute later, the Ducks had their second goal as a bouncing ball in the penalty area fell to Schulz who placed her try in top right corner.
Utah pushed to get on the board in the following minutes as
Hailey Skolmoski fired one wide and had a shot blocked. Van der Veen had two more attempts while
Natalie Vukic was denied by a Duck defender and
Holly Daugirda laced one over the crossbar.
Oregon sealed the match in the 88th minute when Seaman scored her second as the game became stretched and rain continued to pelt the field.
Utah plays its final road match of the season on Sunday at 11 a.m. PT vs. Oregon State
