LIHU'E, Hawaii - After two rounds of play at the John A. Burns Collegiate, the Utah men's golf team carded a combined total of 11-over 587 (301-286) and head into tomorrow's final round in 14
th-place at the par-72, 6,991-yard at Wailua Golf Course in Lihu'e, Kaua'i.
Virginia tops the field of 18 teams after posting a combined score of 25-under 551 (268-283) through the first two rounds. Texas A&M (-19, 557), UNLV (-10, 566), Brigham Young (-17, 559) and Santa Clara (-10, 566) round out the top-five teams in a tie for fourth-place.
Sophomore
Kyler Dunkle led the way for the Utes, with a combined score of 2-under 142 through the first two rounds. Dunkle carded a 1-over 73 through his first 18 holes of play and followed with a 3-under 69. He heads into Tuesday tied for 19th-place overall. Freshman
Mitchell Schow carded a two-round score of even-par 144, after shooting 1-over 73 through the first 18 holes and a 1-under 71 heading into tomorrow's round in a tie for 27
th-place.
Sophomore
Nathan Wunderli shot 5-over 77 in the first round, along with a 1-over 73 in the second round and currently sits in a tie for 73rd-place with a two-round score of 6-over par 150. Freshman
Jordan Costello is in a tie for 78th-place following a two-round score of 7-over par 151. Senior
Gentry Hicks rounded out Utah's scoring through the first two rounds with a 36-hole score of 9-over 153 and sits in a tie for 93rd-place. Hicks carded rounds of 6-over par and 3-over par, respectively.
Play will conclude tomorrow morning with the final round set to begin with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. HST (11:30 a.m. MST).
