SAN FRANCISCO - Utah Soccer placed three student-athletes on the Pac-12 All-Academic First Team and had 12 Utes recognized by the conference due to their academic success this afternoon.
Max Flom (3.99, Political Science) became the first Ute named to the All-Academic First Team for a third time.
Natalie Kump (3.99, Chemistry) and
Hailey Skolmoski (3.94, Human Development and Family Studies) joined her on the top tier. This was the first honor for Kump and third for Skolmoski, who also earned first team accolades in 2016.
Jessica Hixson (3.87, Human Development and Family Studies) was the only Utah player selected to the second team and it was her first conference honor.
Eight student-athletes received honorable mention status this year, giving Utah 12 selections.
Paola van der Veen earned an award for a third-straight season while
Haylee Cacciacarne,
Holly Daugirda,
Ireland Dunn,
Kristin Fairbairn,
Aleea Gwerder and
Carly Nelson made an all-academic team for a second time.
Tatum Thornton also picked up her first academic accolade from the conference.
To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete that is not a freshman or a transfer in her first year at the institution must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and appear in at least 50 percent of their team's games.
