SALT LAKE CITY - Carly Nelson has been named the Pac-12 Goalkeeper of the Week after blanking No. 21 Colorado in the season finale on Friday.
Nelson made 10 saves as the Utes won their first game ever in Boulder and their first true road game against a Top 25 team since 2007.
The junior from
Lindon finished the season atop the Pac-12 charts with 92 saves after making 21 in the last two games.
With six shutouts in conference play, she also led the league in that category. Her eight shutouts overall were one away from the Utah single-season mark (Lindsay Luke, 9 in 2013)
Nelson was named the Goalkeeper of the Week earlier this year on Oct. 9 after shutting out Washington and No. 7 Washington State.
This is the
15th Pac-12 weekly award for Utah Soccer and third for Nelson.
