FAST BREAKS
• Utah wrap-up both a three-game home stand, along with its final contest of the 2018 calendar year, hosting No. 6-ranked Nevada this Saturday, Dec. 29, at the Huntsman Center.
• Utah enters its final non-conference game of the season with a record of 6-5, while the Wolf Pack enter the contest undefeated at 12-0.
• Saturday's contest will mark the 11th meeting between Utah and Nevada. The Utes lead the all-time series 10-0, but the two teams have not played each other since 1987.
• Utah is a perfect 5-0 at home this season and brings an eight-game home winning streak into Saturday's contest. The current eight-game winning streak dates back to last season with a win over Colorado back on March 3.
• Both Utah and Nevada are coming off wins, with the Utes having defeated Northern Arizona 76-62 back on Dec. 21 and the Wolf Pack picking up a home win over Akron, 68-62, back on Dec. 22.
THE GAME
Utah (6-5) will close out non-conference play hosting the No. 6/6 Nevada Wolf Pack (12-0) this Saturday, Dec. 29. Tip-off between the Utes and Wolf Pack is set for 12 p.m. MT at the Jon M. Huntsman Center.
COVERING THE RUNNIN' UTES
Saturday's contest will air on the Utah Athletics Radio Network (ESPN 700 AM) with Bill Riley and
Jimmy Soto announcing. The game will be televised on the Pac-12 Networks with Roxy Bernstein calling the action and Matt Muehlebach providing color commentary. Lewis Johnson will be on-hand, reporting from the sidelines.
SCOUTING NEVADA
The Wolf Pack are currently ranked No. 6 in the nation and are one of just five teams remaining with an undefeated record. Nevada is 12-0 on the season and has won 18 of its last 19 regular-season games dating back to last season. Nevada's current 12-0 mark also includes a 2-0 record in true road games. The Wolf Pack earned road wins against Loyola Chicago (79-65) and USC (73-61).
The Wolf Pack rank as one of the best teams in the nation in limiting turnovers, averaging just 9.5 turnovers per game, which ranks No. 4 in the nation. Their 114 total turnovers rank fifth in the nation overall. Nevada also ranks among the top-10 teams in the nation at the free throw line, having made 241 free throws, which ranks sixth in the nation.
Jordan Caroline averages nearly a double-double with a team-high 9.6 rebounds per game and ranks tied for first on the team with an 18.8 points per game scoring average. Caroline currently ranks ninth in the nation with seven double-doubles on the season. Caleb Martin also averages 18.8 points per game on the season and ranks among the nation's top-10 with 110 three-point attempts. He has connected on a team-best 36 of those attempts for a .327 shooting percentage from downtown.
Nevada is averaging 82.5 points per game, while giving up just 67.2 points to opposing teams for a +15.2 scoring margin. The Wolf Pack is shooting .468 as a team overall, which includes a .344 effort from beyond the arc. Their .742 free throw shooting percentage ranks 54th in the naiton.
UTAH VS. NEVADA HISTORY
The Utes and Wolf Pack will meet for the 11th time overall, but it will mark the first contest the two teams have played each other since 1987. Utah won the previous meeting, 83-75, in Salt Lake City back on Dec. 22, 1987 - exactly 31 years and seven days ago. Utah is 10-0 all-time when facing Nevada, in a series that dates back all the way to 1930. The Utes are 5-0 all-time when facing Nevada in Salt Lake City.
Utah is a combined 571-330 (.634) all-time when facing teams from the Mountain West Conference, which includes a 6-6 mark against teams from the MWC since Utah moved to the Pac-12 in 2011-12.
LAST TIME OUT
Utah moved to 5-0 at home with a 76-62 victory over Northern Arizona last Friday at the Huntsman Center. The Utes shot nearly 50 percent (29-59) from the field overall, 30 percent (7-23) from the arc and 79 percent (11-14) from the free throw line.

UP NEXT
Utah will open Pac-12 play on the road next week, heading to the desert to take on both Arizona State (Jan. 3) and Arizona (Jan. 5). The Utes and Sun Devils are set to tip-off at 6 p.m. MT on Thursday, while tipping off at 12 p.m. MT against the Wildcats on Saturday.
