All 5 Utes place inside the top 10 in the 5,000.
LOGAN, Utah– Junior Hannah Allred led the Utah track and field team with a fourth-place finish and all five of the Utah competitors in the 5,000-meter race finished inside of the top 10 on day one of the Mark Faldmo Invitational on Friday afternoon.
Allred finished the race in a time of 18:18.03. Also competing for the Utes was senior Shaylen Crook, sophomore Emma Christensen, junior Jade Mulvey, and freshman Astrid Lindgren. Crook finished in fifth place with a time of 18:25.63, Christensen placed seventh with a time of 18:29.69, Mulvey earned eighth with a time of 18:30.98, and Lindgren finished in ninth place with a time of 18:51.55. Mulvey's time was a new personal best.
Freshman Regan Crofts competed in the javelin Friday evening where she placed 13th with a throwing distance of 112'0" (34.14 meters).
"I was very pleased with the effort of all of our women who competed on Friday. Hopefully, we can keep it going on Saturday in the remaining events."
The Utes will be back in action tomorrow at noon for day two of the Mark Faldmo Invitational.
