SAN FRANCISCO – Utah track and field senior
Grayson Murphy has been named the Pac-12 Women's Track Athlete of the Week, announced today by the conference.
Murphy finished third in the 3,000 steeplechase at the Stanford Invitational with a school-record time of 9:51.36. Her time currently ranks third in the NCAA and is the best time in the Pac-12 this season.
Murphy is a four-time All-American at Utah between cross country and track. She finished fifth in the 3,000 steeplechase at the 2017 NCAA Outdoor Championships and more recently placed 10
th in the 5,000 at the 2018 NCAA Indoor Championships. Murphy holds Utah school records in the 3,000 steeplechase and the outdoor and indoor 5,000.
Murphy is the second Utah student-athlete to earn Pac-12 Track Athlete of the Week honors since joining the league in 2012 (Stephanie Jolley, 2013).
