EUGENE, Ore. – The Utah baseball team closed out its series against Oregon on Sunday afternoon with a 4-3 loss.
Utah held the lead twice during the game and Oregon tied the game in the seventh inning before winning it in the bottom of the ninth.
Dominic Foscalina led Utah at the plate with a 2-for-4 performance as the Utes out-hit Oregon, 7-6, in the game.

Rykker Tom and Foscalina each drove in runs for the Utes.
Josh Lapiana threw six innings on the mound, allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits with four strikeouts and four walks.
Spencer Kevin Johnson earned the loss after throwing 1 2/3 innings while
Kyle Robeniol (who played his freshman year at Oregon) and
Trenton Stoltz each made brief appearances.
Utah took a 2-0 lead in the third inning after four straight hits to lead off the inning.
Matt Richardson led off the inning with a double and
Shea Kramer beat out a bunt single, leading to an RBI single from Keirsey. Tom followed with an RBI single to put the Utes on the board.
Oregon tied the game at 2-2 with runs in the fourth and fifth innings buoyed by walks and errors.
Utah rallied back in the sixth to take the lead. Tom walked and
Oliver Dunn reached on an error with Foscalina's RBI single sending a run home to give Utah a 3-2 advantage.
The Utes held off Oregon in the sixth after the Ducks put two runners on base, but Oregon rallied for a run in the seventh to tie the game at 3-3 after a one-out triple scored on a sacrifice fly.
In the ninth, Foscalina led off the inning for the Utes with a single and would eventually move to third after a bunt and ground out, but was stranded there as a fly out ended the inning. Oregon drew two walks in the bottom of the inning and after a double steal moved the runners with one out, another runner was intentionally walked to load the bases. An infield ground out got the second out of the inning before the game-winning run scored on a wild pitch.
Utah plays its final midweek game of the season on Tuesday, May 15 at Utah Valley at 6:00 p.m. MT before hosting Washington beginning on Thursday, May 17.
