With the 2018 season set to begin, No. 19 Utah has welcomed five newcomers to the roster with two transfers and three freshmen.
Leading up to the season, Utahutes.com will be posting a quick Q&A with each newcomer. The third newcomer is middle blocker
Kennedi Evans.
The Twin Falls, Idaho native was a three-time conference player of the year selection and an Under Armour All-American nominee. She finished her high school career with 919 kills, a .430 hitting percentage, 40 service aces and 321 blocks.
While you were getting recruited, what made you so excited about Utah?
I always wanted to play in the Pac-12 and I loved the location, coaches and team environment.
What stood out to you about campus when you came to visit?
I like that everything is growing and getting better. I also love that that the campus is tucked up in the mountains.
How would you describe your game on the court?
I describe my game on the court as being aggressive and a force at the net.
What are your goals on and off the court while you're in college?
I want to graduate, but on the court I am looking for a national championship!
What do you want to add to the team this year?
I want to be a competitor and push everyone to be the best team we can be.
Utah begins the season on Friday, August 24 at 7 p.m. against UC Irvine in the Huntsman Center.
