SALT LAKE CITY – University of Utah head volleyball coach
Beth Launiere announced on Wednesday, September 12 that All-Pac 12 middle blocker
Berkeley Oblad will miss the remainder of the 2018 season due to an elbow injury.
"Berkeley's elbow has caused her a lot of pain for a long time," Launiere said. "A recent injury to it has caused her to need surgery. It is unfortunate as Berkeley was prepared for a great senior season, but it is good that she is getting it taken care of so she can hopefully play pain free again. It is a big loss for our team, but we know it is best for Berkeley in the long run."
The senior was named to the Pac-12 Preseason All-Conference team after having a great junior season where she finished with 300 kills and 142 blocks and was named AVCA All-American honorable mention, AVCA All-Pacific South Region honorable mention and All-Pac 12 honorable mention.
Oblad played in six matches this season and totaled 30 kills and 14 blocks.
