KANSAS CITY – The United Soccer Coaches honored Utah with a Team Academic Award for their outstanding work in the classroom.
During the 2018-19 academic year, the Utes posted a 3.44 team GPA. The Utes have now achieved a team GPA above 3.0 for 18 straight semesters. Utah also attained a perfect single-year score of 1000 in the 2019 APR Report and had the third-biggest jump of any Utah team in the multi-year report
Last season,
Hailey Skolmoski and
Paola van der Veen garnered spots on the United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-West Region team. Skolmoski also garnered CoSIDA Academic All-District honors in 2018
Twelve Utes picked up Pac-12 All-Academic accolades with a record three student-athletes earning first team honors; Skolmoski,
Max Flom and
Natalie Kump. Van der Veen,
Jessica Hixson,
Haylee Cacciacarne,
Holly Daugirda,
Ireland Dunn,
Kristin Fairbairn,
Aleea Gwerder and
Carly Nelson also garnered accolades from the conference.
Utah has now earned 18 United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Awards, more than any other Pac-12 school. The Utes have been honored every season since 2009.
