SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – No. 17 Utah volleyball had a huge fifth set to beat Arizona State (29-27, 23-25, 25-21, 23-25, 15-8) in the Huntsman Center.

Freshman outside hitter
Zoe Weatherington had four kills hitting 1.000 and 2.0 blocks in the fifth set pushing Utah to go on a 7-1 run to overcome a pesky Arizona State Sun Devils team that never gave up. Weatherington had 15 kills for the match hitting .323.

Berkeley Oblad had a career night as well finishing with 16 kills hitting .382 with 6.0 blocks.

The first set was incredibly tight with the Utes gaining the advantage going on a 4-0 run late to go up 23-20. ASU came back and tied things up at 23 and then spoiled the next three set points for the Utes. Utah then had to battle back and ended up running off three straight points to take the opener 29-27.

Utes found themselves in a hole for the majority of the second set, but went on a 5-0 run to tie it up at 20 and then again at 22. Arizona State ended up going up 24-22 and Utah held off one set point, but the Sun Devils evened the match up with a 25-23 second-set win.

Utah built a seven-point lead up 21-14 in the third, but the Sun Devils didn't make it easy. The Utes ended up closing it out 25-21 with a
Dani Drews kill to go up 2-1 in the match.

Arizona State controlled the fourth set until Utah went on a 4-0 run late to tie things up at 23. The Sun Devils responded by winning the final two points of the set pushing it to five.

The fifth was tied at six and Utah went on a 7-0 run behind Weatherington and Oblad. The two combined to score five of the seven points with kills and blocks and then Weatherington got her 15
th kill of the night to finish off Arizona State.

It was the fifth five-set match in the last six matches for Utah and they weren't going to be denied in this one. Their record moves to 15-7 overall and 7-4 in the Pac-12.

Kenzie Koerber was great for the Utes all night as well finishing with 15 kills hitting .385 and had a monstrous 20 digs.

Saige Ka'aha'aina-Torres also had a double-double finishing with 56 assists and 16 digs.
Dani Drews was the third Ute with a double-double having 15 kills and 15 digs.

Utah will be back in the Huntsman Center on Sunday, November 3 at 12 p.m. hosting the Arizona Wildcats.
