Utes travel to Duke for First Round
SALT LAKE CITY - Utah Soccer will travel to No. 12 Duke for the First Round of the 2019 NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Championship. Kick-off is scheduled for Friday at 6 p.m. ET/4 p.m. MT
The Utes, making their eighth appearance in the tournament under head coach Rich Manning, were one of nine teams from the Pac-12 to earn a berth. Utah placed eighth in the conference this season, closing with wins over No. 21 Washington and Colorado
"This team has been climbing and fighting all season," Manning said. "We continued to battle and got results at the end. This is a great achievement for our team. I am so happy that our seniors get at least one more game to play together."

The Utes advanced to the NCAA Regional Semifinals in 2016 after winning two games in the tournament for the first time in program history. Utah is 3-7 all-time in the NCAA Tournament and has won once away from home, 2-1 over No. 10 Florida State in Los Angeles during that same '16 run.
"I cannot believe it," senior Ireland Dunn said. "I was ready to watch the show and go do homework. I am so excited!"
"This is just so surreal", fellow classmate Holly Daugirda added. "We get another chance to play together and against a team that beat us a couple years ago."
Utah did play at Duke during the 2017 season, suffering a 2-1 loss to the 11th-ranked Blue Devils. Daugirda and Haylee Cacciacarne registered assists in the contest. The Utes are 1-2 all-time against members of the Atlantic Coast Conference after losing at Clemson earlier this year.
