INDIANAPOLIS – Junior
Sarah Feeny will represent the University of Utah track and field team at the 2019 NCAA Indoor Track and Field National Championships, the NCAA announced late Tuesday evening. Feeny will compete in the mile run at the national championship event, which will be held March 8-9 at the Birmingham CrossPlex in Birmingham, Ala.
Â
This is Feeny's first-ever individual berth into the indoor national championship meet, where she qualified in the mile run with a time of 4:36.67, which she posted just this past weekend at the MPSF Indoor Championships in Seattle, Wash. Her time of 4:36.67 not only ranks as a personal-best, but it also ranks as the second-fastest time in school history, right behind Amanda Mergaert's time of 4:35.35 that was set back in 2013.
Â
This marks a third-consecutive year that Utah will be represented in the NCAA indoor championships. Former All-American
Grayson Murphy competed in the 5000-meter event back in 2017 and 2018.
Â
ESPN3 will stream the championships live starting at 4:30 p.m. MT March 8 and starting at 3 p.m. MT March 9. For more information regarding the Division I indoor track and field championships log on to ncaa.com.
