INDIANAPOLIS—The NCAA has announced the semifinal fields for the 2019 NCAA Women's Gymnastics Championship in Fort Worth, Texas, on Friday, Apr. 19 and No. 5 Utah will face No. 2 UCLA, No. 3 LSU and No. 6 Michigan at noon CT/11 a.m. MT in the Fort Worth Convention Center Arena. Competing in the second semifinal at 6 p.m. CT on Apr. 19 are No. 1 Oklahoma, No. 4 Denver, No 7 Georgia and No. 8 Oregon State.
The top two teams from each semifinal will advance to the championship final on Saturday, Apr. 20 at 6 p.m. CT/5 p.m. MT. This is the first time that the women's gymnastics tournament has incorporated a four-team format all the way through the NCAA Championship final. It is a change from the six-team (Super Six) format used from 1987-2018 and other configurations utilized in the 1970s and '80s.
The ESPN family of networks will broadcast both semifinals and the championship final live. Semifinal I will be broadcast on ESPN2, semifinal II on ESPNU (switching to ESPN2), and the championship final on Saturday Apr. 20 is on ESPNU.
