Prior to the 2019 Utah Soccer season, get to know some of the student-athletes. Today, meet Brooklyn James
Q: How did your interest in soccer begin?
At four my mom threw me into soccer and I fell in love
Q: What is your favorite part about playing soccer?
I love the freedom it gives me to express myself on the field and it is a release from everyday life
Q: What made you choose Utah?
Utah gave me the ability to play the two sports that I love and it is a beautiful place to live
Q: What are some of your favorite things to do outside of playing soccer?
I like to run and be with my best friends
Q: What is the best piece of advice you have received?
Find your place in whatever you are doing and do everything you can to be the best at it
Q: Who is your biggest influence in life and why?
My twin sister because we go through life together and she has taught me a lot about taking your challenges in life and not letting them define you
Q: What do you think the keys to success are?
Time management and not taking everything so seriously. Learn to have fun with it
Q: If you could play or go pro in any other sport, what would it be and why?
I would want to run professionally because track is my other passion
Q: What are you looking forward to most this season?
Playing soccer again and being out on the field because it is what I love to do
Q: What is your favorite part about being on the soccer team at Utah?
The girls, for sure, because they make everything fun
Q: Where is your favorite place to eat in Salt Lake City?

Q: If you could have a super power, what would it be?

4th of July
Q: If you could take three things with you to a desert island, what would they be?
My sister, a swim suit and some food because that is everything you need to have a good time

Cinnamon rolls and lollipops
Q: If you could time travel, where and when would you go?
The late 1950's when my grandparents were young because I think they would be fun to hang out with

Christine Sinclair and the Portland Thorns

Panama because my dad was born there and I love the culture
