SALT LAKE CITY - The Utes have been practicing for over a week now and are looking forward to their Red/White Scrimmage on Saturday, August 24 at 2 p.m.
First, fans will be able to meet the team on Saturday, August 17 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the
2019 Utah Red Zone Fan Fest.
Fans will get the chance to meet with student-athletes from all 20 sports. Fan Fest will take place Saturday, Aug. 17 from 6-8 p.m. on the Rice-Eccles Stadium south plaza. There will be no charge for parking and admission. The
Utah Red Zone will be set up on the south plaza selling merchandise and Mystery Boxes will be available again this year for $50, going on sale at 6 p.m. on the south plaza.
This week Utah started introducing their freshmen with a couple of profiles on
Emily Smith and
Leah Schmidt.
The team also had a nice off day at the Grand America in downtown Salt Lake.

Dani Drews finished with 522 kills in 2018 season, which is the third most in program history. She is only the second player in the rally-scoring era to eclipse the 500-kill mark in a season.

Head coach
Beth Launiere enters her 30
th season as the head coach at Utah. In that time, she has totaled 564 wins in that time, three conference titles and three conference tournament championships.

Under Launiere, the Utes have made 15 NCAA Tournaments. Among those 15 appearances, the team has made the second round 11 times and Sweet 16 three times.

Utah will have an experienced squad back in 2019 as they have 11 letterwinners returning from a season ago.

Playing in the Pac-12 is tough, but Utah has one of its toughest schedules ever this season with 10 teams ranked in the AVCA Preseason Coaches Poll. Five of those will be in non-conference play with No. 7 Kentucky, No. 23 Cal Poly twice, No. 12 Pittsburgh and No. 9 BYU.

Utah has three All-Americans on the roster in 2019.
Dani Drews was named an AVCA Second Team All-American and
Kenzie Koerber earned honorable mention All-American honors after the 2018 season. The team also gets back
Berkeley Oblad, who missed most of 2018 with an elbow injury. Oblad was an honorable mention All-American after the 2017 season.
