Prior to the 2019 Utah Soccer season, get to know some of the student-athletes. Today, meet Jamie Goodwin
Q: How did your interest in soccer begin?
My older sister had a big influence on my soccer career. I would always go to her games to watch and would think "I want to do that some day"
Q: What is your favorite part about playing soccer?
The unity with the team. Having 20-30 girls that will literally run miles for you is so special
Q: What made you choose Utah?
I wanted a change from the town I grew up in. The "U" had so much to offer from academics to great scenery. I could not resist
Q: What are some of your favorite things to do outside of playing soccer?
I am pretty outdoors-y so I love to go hikes and the to the lakes
Q: What is the best piece of advice you have received?
Appreciate the small things. So often we get caught up in the craze of living that sometimes you just need to stop and look at the clouds and appreciate them
Q: Who is your biggest influence in life and why?
Every member of my family influences me greatly on the daily. I admire and look up to them all so much
Q: What do you think the keys to success are?
Organization! Take advantage of the time you have by being organized. Either get ahead of time and work or take a nap because you need sleep
Q: If you could play or go pro in any other sport, what would it be and why?
Volleyball because it always looked so much fun and I think I would at least, be decent
Q: What are you looking forward to most this season?
This team seems so special. I cannot wait to see what we accomplish. Also, the new stadium!
Q: What is your favorite part about being on the soccer team at Utah?
The willingness of everyone to just put everything they have to get better. it is admirable
Q: Where is your favorite place to eat in Salt Lake City?
Mellow Mushroom because it is pretty unique
Q: If you could have a super power, what would it be?
Shape shifting so I could change into other things or people that had powers so I could have those also
Q: What is your favorite holiday?
Halloween because I like getting dressed up
Q: If you could take three things with you to a desert island, what would they be?
Blanket, fishing pole and a journal
Q: What is your favorite food? Favorite candy?
Italian food and Milky Ways
Q: If you could time travel, where and when would you go?
The 1920's because it seemed like times were so happy and care free
Q: Who is your favorite professional athlete and team?
Any woman on the US National Team because they are all hard working, strong people that I look up to and the New England Patriots
Q: Whom would you like to see in concert?

P.S. I Love you and Jennifer Aniston

Friends
Q: What country would you like to visit and why?
Ireland because it seems beautiful and a lot of my family is from there

I always wore 12 for Tom Brady since I was little. I chose 99 here because of Wayne Gretzky
