SALT LAKE CITY – Fans can come out and get their first glimpse of the 2019 Utah volleyball team this Saturday, August 24 at 2 p.m. in the Huntsman Center.
Utah will split the team to take one more step in being ready for the season opener the following week for the Utah Volleyball Classic.

Utah Volleyball Classic Info
The Utes 2019 season begins on Friday, August 30 as they host the Utah Volleyball Classic. This year is a very competitive field as the other three teams are No. 7 Kentucky, No. 23 Cal Poly and Saint Mary's. All three teams played in the 2018 NCAA Tournament.
Utah's Tournament Schedule
Friday, August 30
Saint Mary's at 12 p.m.
Kentucky at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, August 31
Cal Poly at 5 p.m.

Parking is free in the LDS Garage across the street from the Huntsman Center or in the south lots next to the central garage..
Clear Bag Reminder
To enhance public safety and make stadium access more efficient, the University of Utah adopted a Clear Bag Policy. Fans may bring in one (1) clear bag no larger than 12? x 6? x 12? or a 1-gallon plastic storage bag. Fans are limited to one clear bag per person, along with a small clutch or purse for privacy.

Five Quick Hitters Heading into 2019
- Head coach Beth Launiere enters her 30th season as the head coach at Utah. She has totaled 564 wins and has taken Utah to the NCAA Tournament 15 times.
- Utah returns 11 letterwinners from a season ago including All-Americans Dani Drews, Kenzie Koerber and Berkeley Oblad.
- Drews is coming off one of the best seasons in program history finishing the year with 522 kills and 332 digs. She earned AVCA Second Team All-American honors. Drews was the second player in program history to surpass the 500-kill mark in the rally-scoring era.
- Berkeley Oblad is back after suffering an injury early last season and sat out all but six matches in 2018. In 2017, when she was named an AVCA All-American honorable mention, Oblad had 300 kills and 142 blocks.
- Utah has welcomed six newcomers to the roster this season. There are two outside hitters, a setter, one middle blocker and two defensive specialists in that group.
