SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah volleyball team reports back to campus to begin its 2019 season on Wednesday, August 7.
The Utes will begin practice on Thursday, August 8 to be ready for their season opener in the Huntsman Center on Friday, August 30. They will kick their season off by hosting a tournament with Saint Mary's, Kentucky and Cal Poly.
All three teams coming to play in the Utah Volleyball Classic were in the NCAA Tournament a year ago.
The schedule Utah has put together will challenge them, but they're returning three All-Americans as well as their three-year starting libero.

Dani Drews,
Kenzie Koerber and
Saige Ka'aha'aina-Torres all got experience with USA Volleyball in some capacity.
Lauren Sproule has also gained some international experience this summer playing on Canada's NextGen Squad. She's currently in Lima, Peru playing in the 2019 Pan American Games.
Shoji was an assistant for the Women's Junior A1 Team. They competed at the High Performance Championships July 13-22 at the Broward Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The 100+ team event featured tournaments for both boys and girls and included teams from USA Volleyball Region HP teams, International teams and teams from the USA Volleyball High Performance pipeline.
Launiere was an assistant coach for the USA Collegiate National Team – World University Games in Torino, Italy, while Drews, Koerber and Ka'aha'aina-Torres all traveled to Japan with one of the US Collegiate National teams. For more info on their trips, click

Drews and Koerber were both named All-Americans after their sophomore seasons and Ka'aha'aina-Torres will be setting for the Utes this season.
