SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah volleyball team will be well represented with U.S. Volleyball this summer as three student-athletes have been chosen to compete on Collegiate National Teams, U.S. Volleyball has announced.
Dani Drews and
Kenzie Koerber will compete on the U.S. Collegiate National Team – Gold and
Phoebe Grace was selected to the U.S. Collegiate National Team – Anaheim to compete this summer.
Drews and Koerber were two of 28 players named to the CNT Gold roster. Chris McGown has been selected to serve as head coach of the CNT-Gold roster. He will be assisted by BYU Head Coach Heather Olmstead, University of San Diego Assistant Coach Alfred Reft and three-time Olympian and two-time silver medalist Tayyiba Haneef-Park.
The CNT Gold will train July 5-12 in Anaheim at the American Sports Centers where they will compete side-by-side with the U.S. Women's National Team as it makes final preparations for the Tokyo Olympic Games.
Drews is making her third appearance on a CNT roster. She was also selected to the 2019 CNT-Japan Tour roster to follow up her 2018 CNT-Detroit roster selection.
Koerber is making her second appearance on a CNT roster. Last summer, she was selected to the 2019 CNT-Japan team.
Grace will be making her first appearance with a CNT team after being selected for the CNT-Anaheim roster. The CNT-Anaheim will train June 21-27 in Anaheim at the American Sports Centers where they also will compete side-by-side with the U.S. Women's National Team as it makes final preparations for the Tokyo Olympic Games. This is her first selection to a CNT team.
In total, 56 CNT athletes were selected through the U.S. Women's National Team Open Tryouts held Feb. 21-23 at the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
