Feature Friday Series: Annie Murdock

In our newest addition of the Feature Friday Series, we chat with freshman and Salt Lake City native Annie Murdock. Murdock attended Highland High School, where she was a three-sport athlete and 2020 Valedictorian. During her high school career, Murdock competed in swim, soccer, and track & field – while also serving as captain for all three sports and was an all-state recipient in soccer and track. She also guided the Rams to a regional track championship as a sophomore and was an all-city track champion both sophomore and junior years.

Murdock's collegiate debut was at the Weber State Invitational in January of 2021, where she ran the 400m race with time 58.66 for fourth-place. She recently recorded a new PR (57.64) in the 400m at the UNLV Winter Challenge #1 and took third while also finishing 10th in the 200m (27.06).
Murdock draws her athletic inspiration from many people, but the most important are her parents and family. She recalls memories with her family revolving around outdoor activities, and attributes her successes and interest in athletics to her parents Daniel and Adrianne. Her close and supportive relationships with younger sisters Katelyn and Meg have also been a source of strength both in athletics and in Murdock's personal life.
Murdock is most excited about strengthening her relationship with her teammates and taking advantage of the opportunities the University of Utah has to offer. She also looks forward to meeting new people and to pursuing her academic interests as a chemistry major.
