Craig Smith announced the addition of Serbian guard Luka Tarlac on Tuesday, further cementing the backcourt for next season..

Craig Smith said. "Standing at a legit 6-8 and 210 pounds as a freshman, Luka will bring excellent length and athleticism to our team. He plays fast and he plays physical and has an excellent feel for the game on both ends of the floor. Luka also has tremendous versatility and will impact winning in a great way."

He is the fourth signee for Utah heading into the 2022-23 season, joining

Mike Saunders Jr.

Tarlac to Utah with some familiarity having played alongside now sophomore
Lazar Stefanovic as member of the Partizan program. The Belgrade, Serbia, product played for Dunav in 2021-22 on loan from Partizan in the Serbian A League where he averaged 7.6 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists. The 6-8 guard also owned a .462 shooting clip and .333 clip from beyond the arc.

While with Dunav, Tarlac recorded up a career-high 25 points against OKK Novi Pazar, going 9-of-12 from the field – four of which came from 3-point range. He also pulled down a season-high seven boards against Dynamic Vip Pay while also scoring 19 points.

In his second season with Partizan's U19 team (2019-20), Tarlac averaged 12.8 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 3.2 steals and 2.8 blocks while shooting 42.9-percent from the floor.

Like Stefanovic, Tarlac comes to Salt Lake City with plenty of international experience playing with the Serbian U16 team and against other European teams as part of the Adidas Next Generation Tournaments with Partizan's U18 team.
His father Dragan was a second round pick (31st overall) in the 1995 NBA Draft by the Chicago Bulls and made his debut in the 2000-01 season. He also represented his country as part of the Serbian National Team - then known as FR Yugoslavia National Team. Dragan's professional career spanned from 1990-2004 between the NBA and Europe and was highlighted by a gold medal in the 2001 European Championships alongside Peja Steojakovic.Â
