LAST TIME OUT
The Utah men's basketball team completely dominated UCLA this past Thursday, handing the Bruins their second-worst defeat in program history with a 90-44 throttling inside the Jon M. Huntsman Center. With the game in favor of Utah 33-27 at the 18:12 mark in the second half, Utah opened up a 49-6 blitzkrieg against the Bruins that lasted 13:03 minutes despite UCLA calling three separate timeouts during that stretch.
Branden Carlson and
Deivon Smith both finished with double-doubles as well while Utah had five players reach double-figures. Carlson finished with 12 points and a career-high 14 rebounds while Smith dished out a career-high 11 dimes to go with 11 points. His 14 rebounds were the most against a conference opponent since Tyler Rawson had 15 against Washington State on Feb. 17, 2018. The win snapped a seven-game losing skid against the Bruins for Utah and its first win since 2019.
