PARK CITY, Utah – While the Nordic season is already underway, fans will have their first chance to see alpine action this week as the Utah Ski Team competes at the Utah Olympic Park over four days from Wednesday through Saturday, January 17-20.
The Utes and teams from across the RMISA will compete in two days of slalom and two days of giant slalom, as the debut of collegiate racing at the Spencer F. Eccles Olympic Mountain Center at the UOP. One day of each race discipline will be scored into the Westminster Invitational and Utah Invitational.
Race Day Parking
Fans can park free of charge in the main lot of the Utah Olympic Park, which is within walking distance of the Spencer F. Eccles Olympic Mountain Center.

Alpine Additions
Seven new alpine Utes have joined the Utah Ski Team for the 2024 season, breaking down to six freshmen and one transfer in
Mikkel Solbakken. Solbakken, the 2021 NCAA men's individual champion in giant slalom, comes up the road from Westminster, while the rookies include

Melanie Dahlberg,
Maddie Kaiserman,
Kaila Lafreniere,
Sindre Myklebust and
Jay Poulter.

Poulter Tabbed to Team USA for Alpine Junior Worlds
Freshman
Jay Poulter has been selected to represent the United States at the 2024 FIS Alpine Junior World Ski Championships, announced by U.S. Ski & Snowboard. Poulter is one of 16 athletes tabbed to Team USA, with junior worlds scheduled for January 28 through February 3 in Haute-Savoie, France.
Rewind on 2023
The 2023 Utah Ski Team continued one of the strongest runs in modern collegiate history, capturing the program's fourth straight NCAA Championship and 16
th national title all-time. It included an individual sweep on the women's side as
Madison Hoffman won both the GS and slalom crowns, the first women's alpine double champion since 2019 and first by a Ute since 1990.
During the regular season, the squad logged an RMISA-best 1,347 alpine points. It set the stage for Hoffman's dominance at NCAAs and a runner-up men's slalom performance by
Wilhelm Normannseth.
Five All-America awards, 13 individual victories and 27 podiums were recorded by the Utes alpine squad throughout the entirety of the 2023 collegiate racing season. Normannseth was named RMISA men's slalom MVP and
Gustav Vøllo took home the same honor in men's GS.
Next Up
The Utes and the rest of the RMISA will hit a little break after this week's races. Alpine resumes competition on Thursday, February 1 in a giant slalom race leading into the Colorado Invitational, while both the alpine and Nordic squads will compete in the meet beginning on Friday, February 2 in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.
